About the Superintendent of Catholic Formation and Education
Dr. Michael J. Fedewa is a native of Edmore, Michigan and has resided in North Carolina since 1981. He has served as the superintendent of schools for the Diocese of Raleigh since 1994.
Dr. Fedewa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Alma College and a Masters and Doctorate in Education from North Carolina State University.
He has been a social studies and history teacher, coach, assistant principal, teacher evaluator, middle school principal and a high school principal in North Carolina. He is married to Beverly B. Fedewa and they have two children, Michael Jr. and Dori.
The Superintendent of Catholic Formation and Education assists the diocesan Bishop in a fourfold capacity to provide oversight for all areas related to the faith formation of the laity. This encompasses the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis, Catholic Schools, Campus Ministry, and Lay Ministry Formation.
