Join us for worship and fellowship as we pray for and celebrate the lives of the members of our community with special needs: March 3, 2018, 11am at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Apex, NC.
Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama will be the celebrant at the annual Special Needs Mass, a celebration of the gifts of people with different abilities, an opportunity to show our solidarity and to affirm the true dignity and worth of all of our fellow sisters and brothers in Christ. People with a variety of special needs will have the opportunity to contribute to the liturgy as readers, ushers, altar servers and musicians. There will be interpretation for the hearing impaired.
A lunch reception will follow in the fellowship hall to build community with families in other parishes who are experiencing the same struggles and joys.There will be an opportunity to join in one of several options of a Lenten craft, based on ability.
St. Andrew Parish was chosen for its accessibility and also for the excellent program that it already has for children with autism and other special needs. Katie McDermott, founder of the program, will be carrying up the gifts with her son, Dylan. Other children who currently participate in the program will be participating in various ways along with those of other parishes throughout the Diocese.

Misa para personas con necesidades especiales
Acompáñanos a convivir, orar y celebrar las vidas de las personas con necesidades especiales de nuestra diócesis el 3 de marzo de 2018 a las 11 a.m. en la Parroquia St. Andrew the Apostle en Apex, NC.
El Obispo Luis Rafael Zarama, presidirá la Misa Anual. Es una celebración por el regalo de las personas con diferentes capacidades y una oportunidad para demostrar la solidaridad y afirmar la verdadera dignidad y valor hacia estos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo. Ellos tendrán la oportunidad de participar en la liturgia como proclamadores de la palabra, ujieres, monaguillos y ser parte del coro.
Después de la Misa habrá una recepción en el salón social para formar comunidad con las familias de otras parroquias que experimentan las mismas luchas y alegrías. También podrán participar en una de las varias opciones de arte cuaresmal.
La Parroquia St. Andrew, fue escogida por su accesibilidad y también por el excelente programa que tienen para los niños con autismo y otras necesidades especiales. Katie McDermott, fundadora del programa, presentará las ofrendas con su hijo Dylan. Otros niños que actualmente hacen parte del programa participarán de diversas maneras junto con otros feligreses de distintas parroquias de la Diócesis.
