Baptismal Call
Overview
To help individuals learn about the mission and ministry of Christ and the Church and discern that they are called and gifted, the Office for Lay Ministry provides a special four session course based on the U.S. Bishops' document Called and Gifted for the Third Millennium. The course leads adult Catholics through a study of the calls to holiness, to community, to mission and ministry, and to Christian maturity.
The diocesan Lay Ministry Formation Program was developed to provide first level ministry training which includes a groundwork of solid theological studies and good inter-personal skills: a solid, adult-level understanding of the teachings of Christ and the Church and the ability both to communicate that understanding and to work well with others.
For more information about either of these programs or to offer them in your parish, contact Bea Callery by e-mail to bea.callery@raldioc.org, or by phone at 919-821-9715.
